Waterproof membrane switch design: what buyers should confirm

Waterproof membrane switch design is not only about adding adhesive. The final reliability depends on the complete structure, housing fit, tail exit, window design, and how the product is used or cleaned.

Confirm the real water exposure

Light cleaning, splash, outdoor rain, humidity, and immersion risk are different requirements. Buyers should describe the exact use environment instead of only saying "waterproof".

Watch the tail exit and edge sealing

The tail route, connector area, panel edge, and housing assembly are common risk areas. The drawing should show where the tail exits and how the panel is mounted.

Adhesive and housing surface

Adhesive performance depends on the housing material, surface cleanliness, pressure, temperature, and curve or texture. A flat, clean, stable bonding area is easier to control.

Testing before production

Samples should be checked for appearance, button feel, electrical continuity, adhesion, tail strength, and any project-specific sealing requirement before repeat production.
