Tactile Membrane Keys: Agree on Feel, Sound and Input

Published by Baoshengda · 2026-11-05

CN213212012U original drawing page 6, Figures 1 and 2: pressing blocks, toothed bars, gear, spring seat and the separate instruction-block and pad path

For a tactile and audible membrane key, agree on the intended feel, the sound the operator should hear and the input the equipment should register. Review those events on the same mounted sample. A mechanical click alone does not establish that the equipment accepted a command. Before ordering samples, decide who will judge the feedback and who will verify the input at the equipment interface.

The geared mechanism in CN213212012U

Baoshengda's original CN213212012U patent publication is a Chinese utility-model grant publication announced on 2021-05-14. Its claims and drawings describe a geared key arrangement. They are a mechanism reference, not a test report for an off-the-shelf keypad.

Claim 1 connects a pressing block and first toothed bar to a gear, a second toothed bar, a seat platform and a spring seat. The operating description explains how pressing drives the toothed bars through the gear and loads the spring seat. Claim 5 and paragraph 0024 describe a separate impact block and metal sheet whose collision provides an indication sound.

The input path has different labelled parts. Claim 4 identifies an instruction block at the lower end of the first toothed bar and a pad on the upper circuit board. Paragraph 0026 describes their contact as part of the triggering operation. It does not report the precise timing between that contact, the sound and the equipment's response.

The first drawing reproduced here is the complete original publication page 6, with Figures 1 and 2. You can open that original overview at full size. For the spring seat (8), impact block (18) and metal sheet (19), open the original Figure 4 detail on page 8. These are historical patent drawings. They do not show a photographed production assembly or establish that this mechanism is fitted to another Baoshengda product.

Write the feedback requirement before choosing a sample

Start with the operator's task: a brief confirmation press, repeated adjustment or another defined action. Explain whether the intended sound is required, optional or unwanted. If the operator wears gloves or works beside noisy equipment, include those conditions in the proposed review rather than assuming that a bench impression is representative.

Describe the feel in terms the equipment team can check. An agreed reference sample may help communicate the desired resistance and travel, but the drawing still needs the relevant dimensions and acceptance criteria. A request for a stronger click does not specify a force curve, and the patent title does not supply one. Do not assign a numerical force, travel or sound target without an engineering requirement and a method for checking it.

The equipment team should also identify the required input behavior. State which connection or diagnostic indication will show an accepted input and what release behavior needs checking. Record the equipment observation separately from what the operator felt and heard.

Keep a record of the same press and release

The following is a proposed buyer review record, not a set of results reported in the patent. Agree on the method, equipment and acceptance criteria before testing.

Review itemWhat to recordQuestion to settle before approval
Mounted sampleDrawing revision, support, enclosure and pressing positionDoes this arrangement represent the intended equipment installation?
Mechanical responseObserved resistance, movement and release behavior under the agreed methodWhat is acceptable, and who approves the drawing or sample reference?
Audible feedbackWhether a sound occurs and whether it is suitable in the intended environmentIs sound required, and how will the team judge it consistently?
Equipment inputThe agreed electrical or diagnostic observation for the same operationDid the equipment register the intended input and release behavior?
Differences or failuresSample identity and the conditions under which feedback or input differedWhich mechanical, circuit or equipment-interface question remains open?

Keep the observations distinct even when they occur during one press. If the operator hears a sound but the equipment does not record an input, investigate the input path instead of approving the sample from the sound alone. If the input is correct and the feel is unacceptable, retain both observations so that a mechanical change does not hide an interface problem.

Define the limits of the drawing evidence

The publication describes toothed bars, a gear and a spring seat. Do not substitute a generic metal-dome explanation for those parts. It also gives no measured force curve, sound level, input latency or endurance result for the proposed sample. The drawing cannot establish contact material or a precise relationship between the impact event and equipment input.

The document's grant-publication date is historical. This article does not establish current legal status or commercial implementation. Any proposed assembly still needs its own drawing, interface definition and sample evidence. The review questions above are engineering recommendations, not a statement that the patent reports those tests or guarantees their outcome.

Bring the unresolved feedback question into the inquiry

For a custom membrane-switch component review, identify whether you need help with the panel and key arrangement, the circuit and connection, or the relationship to a separately designed mechanism. The patent reference does not mean every custom membrane switch uses its geared construction. Confirm the actual component scope before requesting a quotation.

You can request a sample-scope review with the intended use, approximate quantity and the feedback question you have not resolved. Include an existing photo or drawing if available. Complete production drawings are not required for the first inquiry. Before sample approval, agree on the controlled drawing, mounting arrangement, interface and acceptance criteria. State which items the equipment team will evaluate and which component details need supplier confirmation.
