A raised membrane-switch concept with a removable moisture-absorbing insert needs an agreed service-access plan. Check how the insert is reached, what is disturbed during removal, and how the contact stack is checked after reassembly. The insert does not establish a water-ingress rating, a replacement interval or a qualified service life.
Raised film, circuit stack and replaceable insert
CN213366444U, the original utility-model patent document, has a grant-announcement date of 2021-06-04. Its description combines a raised film, a spring-supported pressing rod and a moisture-absorbing filling held in gauze. This is a review of that dated disclosure. Current legal status and use of this construction in a supplied Baoshengda product have not been verified.
Claim 1 places the gauze below the panel and above the upper circuit. Below that circuit are an isolation layer and a lower circuit. The upper circuit has a contact, and the lower circuit has a silver-paste point. Paragraph 0026 describes the pressing rod moving the upper contact toward that point when the raised film is pressed. Paragraph 0027 describes the spring lifting the raised film and rod.
The service feature appears in paragraphs 0021, 0023 and 0028: a limiting block and slot allow the raised film to be removed. Pull-tab adhesive holds the gauze while allowing it to be taken out and replaced. The document attributes water-vapor absorption to the filling inside the gauze. It does not provide a material grade, absorption-capacity curve or replacement schedule.
Read the section drawing before agreeing the service concept
The cover reproduces the complete original drawing page 6, containing Figures 1 and 2. Figure 1 is a panel view. Figure 2 is a section showing the raised film, spring and pressing rod above the circuit stack, with the gauze and filling on either side. It is an undimensioned patent drawing, not a photograph of a manufactured or tested assembly.
Use the part numbers to discuss access. The raised film is item 2, the limiting block and slot are 7 and 8, the gauze and filling are 9 and 10, and the pull-tab adhesive is 11. A section view identifies their relationship but does not prove that a technician can reach the tab in a finished enclosure. Ask for a mounted sample or a proposed service-access drawing before agreeing that requirement.
Separate moisture management from enclosure protection
A replaceable insert addresses the moisture that reaches it. External water entry, vapor movement through the enclosure, and the condition of the switch after opening are separate design questions. The patent gives no ingress-protection test result and no evidence that the insert keeps a complete product dry in every installation.
For a humid application, the equipment owner should define the actual exposure and the required protection of the finished enclosure. The component review can then identify which seams, openings and materials need evidence. If an ingress rating is required, request the relevant assembly-level evidence. Neither the drawing nor the presence of a moisture-absorbing filling supplies it.
A capacity claim also needs more than a visible packet. Identify the proposed filling, how it is retained, what marks a used insert, and how replacement stock is controlled. These are proposed purchasing and service questions, not performance results reported in the patent.
Put the maintenance questions into the sample review
| Review point | Evidence to request | Decision still needed |
|---|---|---|
| Access to the insert | Mounted view showing the cap and pull-tab route | Who may open the assembly and with which access |
| Removal and retention | Sample showing the gauze, filling and adhesive arrangement | Whether removal disturbs the circuit or leaves loose material |
| Replacement part | Controlled insert description and orientation | Filling grade, identification and agreed replacement trigger |
| Reassembly | Cap-location and retention checks on the mounted sample | How correct seating and the post-service condition are accepted |
| Electrical operation | Identified contact pair and a recorded press-and-release check | Buyer-defined electrical limits and test conditions |
The replacement trigger may remain an open development question. Do not turn an unspecified interval into a calendar promise. If the buyer needs unattended operation with no access for maintenance, review whether a serviceable insert is compatible with that requirement before selecting the construction.
Recheck the contact stack after access and reassembly
The same housing contains both the service feature and the switching mechanism. On an agreed, electrically isolated sample fixture, inspect whether removal and reassembly change the raised-film seating, pressing-rod position or circuit support. Record the sample revision and installation orientation so that a later result can be traced to the assembly actually reviewed.
The patent describes the spring supporting the raised film when installed vertically. It does not report orientation-dependent force, clearance, electrical resistance or endurance data. Ask the supplier to identify the proposed rest position and contact pair, then agree a press-and-release check for the intended mounting orientation. The equipment owner sets the acceptance limits and determines what further equipment-level validation is needed.
Do not use the patent's stated intention to extend life as a measured lifetime claim. A cycle count, a humidity exposure or a maintenance interval needs its own method, conditions and results. A drawing with a spring supplies none of those measurements.
Start the inquiry with the maintenance constraint
For a custom membrane-switch construction review, explain whether the assembly can be opened during service and what must remain protected. If the current design has no agreed access method, state that as an unresolved question rather than preparing a complete production drawing first.
Your first inquiry can include an available photo or drawing, the use environment, approximate quantity and the maintenance question you need to resolve. If known, add the mounting orientation, available access space and proposed contact connection. Baoshengda can review the component construction and sample questions; the equipment owner retains responsibility for enclosure protection, service procedures and finished-equipment acceptance. Discuss the insert and access requirements before fixing the sample plan.
